WestJet's Boeing Next-Gen 737s See One Million Flights Sunday, 03 June 2012 WestJet has celebrated its one millionth flight on its Boeing Next-Gen 737 aircraft. The milestone flight was operated yesterday when flight WS 612 flew from Calgary to Toronto. When the airline started out in 1996, they had three Boeing 737-200 aircraft. United to Start Operating Shreveport to Denver Flights Thursday, 31 May 2012 United Airlines has announced that on August 28 they will start offering daily, nonstop flights from Shreveport to Denver. The flights will be operated on a 50-seat Embraer regional jet and will depart from Denver at 10:20 am each day, arriving in Shreveport at 4:20 pm, according to Mark Crawford, spokesperson for the Shreveport Airport Authority. Those flying to Denver from Shreveport will then have the option of transferring to connecting flights during the evening hours. Read more...   Authorities Warn Crime Syndicate Targeting Singapore Flights Wednesday, 30 May 2012 On Tuesday, Singapore police put out a warning that they believe flights to and from Singapore are being targeted by a Chinese crime syndicate. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Sam Tee, head of the airport police division, there have been 18 reports of thefts so far this year, while last year there was only one. Cash is being stolen from passengers' bags while they sleep during the flight. He also said that their investigations lead them to believe that it is members of a Chinese syndicate and that 3-4 members work a flight. Read more...
