Air Canada to offer seasonal flights between Toronto and Mont-Tremblant

Air Canada will soon offer a non-stop service from Pearson Airport in Toronto to Mont-Tremblant in Quebec. The added seasonal flights will start just in time for ski season and are a sign of the competition between Air Canada and its rival, Porter Airlines. Porter offers seasonal flights and vacation packages to Mont-Tremblant.

More than 1,700 flights grounded after Chicago air traffic control center fire

A deliberately set fire at a Chicago-area air traffic control center caused over 1,700 flight cancellations on Friday. The suspect, Brian Howard, is a long-time employee of a company that provides equipment and technical support for the FAA facility in Chicago, among others. Howard was seen on video entering the facility shortly after 5:00 am, dragging a black suitcase. Half an hour later, he posted on Facebook saying he was going to “take out” the control center and kill himself. A relative notified the police.

Passenger Shaming on Social Media

Apparently, long flights can cause some passengers to shed their decency and manners for the sake of comfort. There is now a social media campaign that is geared toward revealing the sometimes appalling behavior of passengers who seem to have no regard for other people’s personal space or for their own personal hygiene. The campaign has the “passenger shaming” hashtag and was started by former flight attendant Shawn Kathleen.
