Bi-Weekly Trips to Libya with French Airline Sunday, 29 January 2012 French airline Aigle Azur will begin offering bi-weekly flights from Paris to Tripoli in March, according to president of Aigle Azur, Arezki Idjerouidene. Idjerouidene says they have been making plans for the route since 2009 and now he has sent a formal request to the Libyan civil aviation authority, asking for air traffic rights in Libya. Lego Man for Takeoff! Sunday, 29 January 2012 Two teens from Toronto sent a lego man into space using a weather balloon, a camera, and a mobile phone. The teens had heard of similar things done in the past and figured they could do it too. The filled a weather balloon with helium and made a styrofoam box to hold the camera and mobile phone. Then they attached a man made of lego holding a Canadian flag to the box. He went for the ride of his life. Read more...   Spanair is Out of Business Sunday, 29 January 2012 Spanair, the Spanish airline that has been struggling recently, has had its last flight. Yesterday at 10:00 pm the final Spanair flight touched down and all scheduled flights after have been canceled. This affects 120 flights and 23,000 passengers who will have to make alternate arrangements. The reason for the sudden halt in service is that take-over talks with Qatar Airways Ltd. broke down and with no more funding being offered by the government, they are out of money. Read more...
