Air India: only 9 of the daily 370 flights are profitable

On Tuesday the Indian government told Parliament that only nine of the 370 flights it operates are profitable. Only three international and six domestic flights make any money. None of the flights to the United States or Europe are on the list.

Direct flights will connect China and two Canadian cities

Canada and China will work together to introduce direct flights between Beijing and the Canadian cities of Montreal and Calgary. It is part of an agreement between the two countries, signed by the Canadian International Trade Minister Ed Fast and China’s Civil Aviation Administration Li Jiaxiang during a visit to China by Canadian officials. The goal is to develop new direct air services. These new flights will save passengers between three and five hours. Right now there are only flights between Toronto and Vancouver and China.

Unifor says no to night flights

The union that represents approximately 700 offshore oil workers says it doesn’t want to resume night flights off of Newfoundland. The Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers says that companies want more flexibility regarding when they can fly workers to the offshore location.
