Spring Airlines Plans to Launch Domestic Flights in Japan

Spring Airlines of China is preparing to launch domestic flights within Japan. Hiroshi Ugai, president of Spring Airlines Japan Co., said they are at the stage of promoting procedures with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and that they are waiting until later to announce their business strategy.

Spirit Airlines Planning Las Vegas and Baltimore & Philadelphia

Spirit Airlines commenced low-cost flights between Las Vegas and the east coast destinations of Baltimore and Philadelphia. The service began on April 25 and there is daily, nonstop service between McCarran International Airport and Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. In addition, there is daily, nonstop service between Las Vegas and Philadelphia International Airport.

Furloughs Have Been Ended for Air Traffic Controllers

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has sent all of their air traffic controllers back to work and ended the furloughs after thousands of flight delays and much criticism of the move. The statement made by the agency was that they would "return to regular staffing levels over the next 24 hours and the system will resume normal operations by Sunday evening." This comes after legislation was passed quickly on Friday, allowing the Department of Transportation to have more flexibility in applying budget cuts.
