Have you heard that some US airports are replacing _meta_l detectors with full body images designed to find weapons under your clothes, in your mouth.etc. Is it just me, or is this just a little too invasive? It's like a strip search with a camera.

I haven't had to go through one of those yet, but I did have the experience of going through one of the machines where you are isolated in a box and they blow air all of you to detect for explosives. Very strange experience.

Air, Full body scanner...my my what is the world coming to.....
But yes although I will be distraught with any of those ideas, I think it all comes down to the question of our own security in times of terrorists and bombs.

I am all for tight security, but this is like nude pictures of you being projected somewhere for I'm not sure how many security people to see. It's really disturbing, and if it penetrates clothes, I wonder if people who fly often aren't being exposed to a potentially harmful amount of rays. I'm going to look up the type of equipment used. At the very least, people should have been told this would happen. I heard this system was quietly being tested out without warning.

I wonder if you can choose to not be scanned by one of those machines? Would they take you off to some place and search you privately if you declined?

Ok, if I think of it that way, maybe I'd rather the camera than the actual hands on search.
