cheaper with own meals 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
I have multiple food allergies, and most airlines only allow you to circle one for meal choice. I usually end up bringing my own food, but of course airlines don't offer me a discount for this. I don't know of any airlines that fly overseas that don't charge for meals. Meals tend to be included in these flights. Does anyone else know of one?

For long trip airlines, meaning across the Atlantic, for example, the meals are usually included in the price of the trip. What is not included is the alcohol beverages in some airlines. You'll have to find out directly with the airline. Also, the "cheap airlines" don't give you any food. You are on your own. That's why they can make the price cheaper.

I don't think I've heard of any airline offering a discount on the price of the flight if you don't take the meal.

Personally, I look forward to whatever they offer, but I'm sure it would be much better to be offered something that you weren't allergic to...

Sorry, I can't help but think of the scene from Hannibal where the child wants to share the meal that Anthony Hopkins' character brought.

In india there are certain domestic airlines that do not offer any meal and thus the prices are pretty low...but i dont know of any international flights that do the same...

I always pack our meals, whether a meal is included or not. Since we are vegetarians it's always sketchy as to if they'll have anything we can eat. Even the little snacks can have animal product in it, as in gelatin or glycerin.
I always make us a nice deli-_style_ sandwich with lots of cheese and veggies (nothing too runny or saucy). From the looks of passengers around us, they wish they were eating what we are.

actually airlines should have the choice of reduced fairs if you are not taking a meal...there are so many people who are sick or who prefer certain kinds of food or maybe diabatic who bring their own food...so it is really a good consideration for the airlines...
