Just saw this and wanted to share, apparently Avis has struck a deal to offer a wi-fi signal in its cars for $10.95 per day... that's cheap!

They're calling it Avis Connect service and it will be able to transmit a wi-fi signal to multiple laptops and other mobile devices.

The new service will initially be offered at San Francisco International Airport and will continue to be rolled out soon in San Jose, CA, Los Angeles and Newark, NJ.

Other cities will get the service by the 3rd quarter of this year including, New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Miami and Chicago.

wow, this is way cool.

This works out great for business travelers that need to access the internet regularly.

I gotta pass this on to my boss.

I the rental is for business and 2 or more people are traveling in the same car with different laptops, then it is a deal for the convenience.... but otherwise, why not get into Starbucks? Or any other place where access to WiFi is free?

I think that this would be great for a business person who travel alot. Some people don't care to use places like Starbucks for some reason. I know a friend of mine hates all the crowds that are sometimes at these types of places so this would be great for him.
