That is interesting, if I can't get one exactly like my own car I tend to go for a slightly smaller one. If possible I go for a Nissan as my preferred make.

At Christmas I had to rent a car for a couple of weeks after some idiot drove into the side of my car. I had to beg the insurance company to let me hire something smaller than my people carrier. I got a Nissan Note and I fell in love with it, I was sorry when it went back. It has made me seriously consider a smaller car next time.

Maybe there is a bit of a marketing idea in there somewhere. Give the customer an incentive to 'trade down' and get some green credentials for the company.

hubby has never been much bothered about cars.. we've always driven a small hatchback, and that is what we would hire.

I think you have something there kernow, I think ti could be a marketing angle. As well as finding out how a smaller car feels to drive you would notice the difference in fuel economy and be pleasantly surprised.
