Favorite Cruise Lines? 4 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 1
Just wanted to check and see what other members' favorite cruise lines are, and why.

Since I'm a single adult, usually traveling alone, I'm a big fan of Princess, which is a little upscale but not ridiculously so and offers, in my humble opinion, the best shore excursions and on-ship activities in the business.

When my nieces and nephews were young, my family cruised on Disney so there would be plenty of activities for them. I loved the excellent service on the Disney ships, but I missed the presence of a casino.

Now that I am a mother, I have to vote for Disney Cruiselines. They have *incredible* service and top of the line (as only Disney can offer) There is so much for kids to do, and they have terrific destinations. I heard that Disney also now has a private island where you can go on your cruise. How fun is that??

I think Disney Cruises are a lot of fun. for getting away, the best time I'v eever had was with a Carnvial cruise - they made me feel like a king with the way I was treated for the entire cruise.

Every cruise line appeals to a different demographic. I've been on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess, NCL and Holland America. The one I like best was Holland America, because it was relaxed, luxurious and they don't nickel and dime you everytime you turn around. They even don't allow tipping, which gets pretty out of control on some cruise lines.

My number 2 favorite was NCL because of their free_style_ cruising program where you can eat where you want, when you want. Some people don't like that they charge a fee for their fancier onboard restaurants, but you can save that for a special evening and enjoy their regular restaurants on the rest of the trip without all the early, late seating hassle.

Thanks, everybody, for your suggestions. I can tell I'm going to have to tear myself away from Princess and try some new cruise lines. I'm especially interested in NCL, since I'd love to take a Hawaii cruise and they've pretty much got the market cornered there.
