My father-in-law talks about how nice an Alaskan cruise would be. The pictures I've seen have been beautiful, and I'm sure the ships are top class too, but sometimes I wonder why people would choose Alaska over the Caribbean or Mediteranean.

Has anyone here cruised the coast of Alaska?

One of my friends went to Alaska in a cruise, and she said that it was incredibly beautiful, but very cold. I saw the pictures and they looked great! But my idea of a cruise in using the boat's swimming pool and laying under the sun!

The wildlife is special - dall sheep (mounatin sheep), whales, seals - and then there's the glaciers. It's a different universe from Caribbean cruises.

This is my husbands dream to go on an Alaskan cruise. I have seen pictures and they are very beautiful. I hope someday he can go on one.

My friend who isn't a big fan of beach holidays, has this planned for later on this year. She and her husband are both very big on wildlife, and he is a keen bird watcher. Apparently the variety of species is worth the trip.

If I could ever get over my fear of going on a boat the idea of an Alascan Cruise would be very attractive to me. I would love to see the landscape and the wildlife.
