are you suggesting that children challenge grafitti artists atula? not so sure that is a good idea... teaching our kids to appreciate their surroundings and the importance of their heritage is one thing... it would mean they don't grow up to be taggers them selves hopefully.. but acting as mini vigilantes is something else...

Trips like that already happen in England. Many of our historic houses/castles etc are quite remote so keeping a look out for trouble would not work. This generation of children are also taught to value the buildings in the towns as well. These buildings may not be as big or impressive, but they also have a lot to tell us about our past. My children did several of these trips looking at the history of the buildings in our town.

From what I could tell after two years of living in Prague, young people really are well versed in their heritage, so I'm not sure which segment of the population is tagging the buildings. An angry or frustrated segment, I guess.

I guess that disaffected youth is the same everywhere Lyndsey. No jobs, no prospects, and they feel a need to assert themselves, to prove thier existence...

that is a good thing to hear justontime....I think you have a point there....valuing the building in the town as well....I thin these trips also encourage children to get interested in the architechture of things and thus value it a little more...appreciate the efforts that goes into making the building.

I agree, I think they also get a thrill from doing something dangerous and trying not to get caught.
