We've only specifically stayed at the same resort on a "destination" vacation once, because we were so impressed with the property. It was the Barcelo near Cozumel in Mexico.

Do others here return to a place, or keep trying new properties?

We've usually stayed at the same main hotel because of its convenience to the things we want to do at our favorite destination. This time it's different, though, and I think what we have reserved this time will become a new favorite.

This year when we returned to the same restaurant in Puerto Vallarta, it wasn't as good as the previous trips. I guess the level of service will change over time in many cases.

we do stay at the sameplace if we were really impressed by the hotel's convenience, ambience and service and that has happened a couple of times in our case....

Taggart, do you mind me asking if where you stayed was a resort, hotel, or vacation house? I've heard some good things about renting houses in Cozumel; I'd like your opinion if that's what you did.

When I go to Europe I always stay at the same place (my sister's house! LOL) But in general I go to different places. If I've been to a place before, unless I have friends there, most likely I would not go back, but instead would go to new places.
