Since I often need this reminder myself, I thought I'd remind others as well. When you are making hotel reservations, don't forget that many places offer 10% or 15% discount for AAA members. I have forgotten to mention that so often in the past!

I have always wanted to sign up for AAA but just have never gotten around to it. I have used it before through a friend of mine to get a trip tick and that was very helpful.

Last summer was actually the first time we ever got around to doing it, too. In the first week, they gave us huge tour books on the states we were going through between here and Florida, the trip tik that I like to follow on road trips, and info about all the discounts available. It really paid for itself the first trip because we needed hotel rooms for 8 nights... no, 9 nights, I guess, and each one was at least a 10% discount.

It's also a good feeling knowing they'd help if there's trouble along the way, too.

I sometimes forget to check things like that. It seems like I am always signing up for things that offer discounts on various things, and then never think to use it when the time comes!

I was a member for 2 years, but then I got a very time consuming job, and hardly drove anywhere... instead I was flying all over, so I cancelled the membership. I think only once I actually used it.

I've gotten better at remembering hotel discounts because there are usually reminders and that 10% is nice. What I forget most is the restaurant discounts for AAA. Two weeks ago we were leaving a local restaurant and on the way OUT I saw a "Don't forget your AAA card!" sign. Might be nice to hang that thing on the way *IN* but maybe next time I'll remember.
