The mention of Warwich Castle reminded me that the last time I visited they had a reenactment, not of a battle but of a battle camp. You could walk around and find out about the different trades and how they produced goods. You could watch them cook and find out what sort of food they cooked, it was really interesting. I am not a fan of battle reenactments but I enjoyed this.

I wouldn't personally worry as much about the short beds as about bumps and rattlings and bangs coming from the dungeon when I'm trying to sleep. What's a castle without a few resident ghosties?

I like my sleep, so if a ghost came and woke me up it would probably be more afraid of me than the other way around.

Hehe Good (and funny!) point! Okay then, I guess renting out a castle for a couple of nights would be great for you. I'd probably be so excited that I couldn't sleep anyhow.

Knowing me I would be so inspired by the art work (assuming they had some) that I would be wandering around the castle all night looking at the paintings. I remember the first time I saw the Holbein portrait of Henry VIII at Belvoir Castle, I was spellbound, I could have stood looking at it all day and all night.
