My Road Trip Report :-) 3 Years, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
I'm back... and had a great time. I'm in the "recovering from vacation" mode now.

We did Interstate 81 directly over the Blue Ridge Mountains... what beautiful sights to see up there! It was rainy but just a little fog so it was okay. I was amused to see the "runaway trucks" ramps...I've been in other parts of those mountains but never saw that before.

First night was spent at a hotel nestled in those mountains.

Got to destination, St. Augustine, Florida on the third day. Man I love that place! This time was a bit different, though... no sunburn, no calling family back home rubbing in the fact that the 90 degree heat was soooo different from their shoveling snow(ooops, that's my mean streak )...but not this time because sunny tropical Florida was breaking all kinds of LOW temp records. Mornings were in the THIRTIES! Sheesh!

I sat in that townhouse wanting to feel that air conditioning that I always liked so much after getting a sunburn but all I could have this time was the heater. hehe Oh well that felt good, too. But how freaky is THAT?!

Right. and yes, I sure did get what you were saying. The bad part was things like having packed mostly short sleeved tops and needing to buy a couple of long sleeved things for my daughter.

And I'll admit that heater air in the car and in the house sure felt great!

I guess it all has to do with the global warming issue. My dad lives in West Palm Beach, and whenever I ask him, he swears that it is hot and sunny. I think he is just afraid to admit that it is actually cold in Florida!

Hmmm... wouldn't that be global cooling? And actually your dad is right... we always had it hot there, too... coastal Florida. But if he told you it was hot the week of the 16th, you may want to do a polygraph on him! hehe

Well, take it as a different experience in FL! Here in NY has been cold! We had 5 days with temperature that never reached above the freezing mark. Now is getting a bit warmer, but still cold.
