My Travel Buddy... Amazing! 4 Years, 3 Months ago Karma: 0
We just got back from a 9-day road trip and nearly two thousand miles round trip. The furbaby
(4-year old cat) was in the back seat with my daughter. The kitty had her carrier, of course, and by the time we put her in it, and for *ALL* that driving, she never made a peep.

In fact, she slept all the time. I was concerned, of course, about her just closing down like that,
but what a neat thing if I could do it, too. hehe but my concern was short-lived because as soon as we got to the hotels, she was fine and is totally back to normal now that we're home.

Katharina,

That is so cool... traveling with your cat! It's amazing that she was so relaxed.

I have a few of the little furballs myself and I can't imagine any of them cooperating like that... I mean a short trip to the vet causes either extreme wailing or protest pooping.

You're very lucky that you can travel with a cat like that!

That is so awesome that your cat is so good when traveling. The minute I would go to put our cat in the cage that would be it. She never quits crying while in the cage. I am afraid to try it without the cage though.

That was another concern the first time we did it... the litterbox issue. But it wasn't a problem. Since she is so relaxed (sound asleep) for all those hours, we get to a hotel, put the box out, she checks everything out for about half an hour and then uses the box. She even liked most of our hotel rooms (we were gone for 8 nights with 5 different rooms).

My dog is like that. Scarlett sits quietly in the backseat, never fidgeting, never trying to hang her head out the window. She's so quiet I sometimes forget she's there. But stop and let her out and she goes nuts.

That's great, debrajean! It sure makes a huge difference when they actually like traveling! Our cat is like that on every trip we do, no matter how long or how much driving... the hum of the car must be calming to her.
