Why are people from the Uk deciding to domestically travel instead of going abroad? They are specially traveling to the southwest. Do you think the southwest are prepared for more tourists and do you think all this is result of the credit crunch?

Well, I don't know much about UK buying patterns, since I am in the US, but if it same as it is here, people are nervous and worried about their financial future and that takes a lot of the enjoyment out of a big spend on a trip overseas. People are deciding to wait a few years for that "big" trip.

And, if the US is any indication, domestic tourism destinations should expect their numbers to be up for at least the next few years. All polls are showing that people's plans are to take more shorter trips _base_d on time and money constraints. Almost all US travel destinations and especially national parks and low cost options, such as camping, have seen a sharp rise in visitors this year.
