Have you ever gone to a Christmas tree farm where you could go into the woods and chop down the tree of your choice? I'm trying to find one. Do you know of any?

I've seen that experience represented in TV shows and movies, and I remember growing up near a Christmas tree farm, but I've never actually seen a location that allows you to cut your own.

I'm sure that would be a memorable event, especially with children involved.

Yes I have been to one, but I'm not sure it will help you at all. It was near Berlin, in Germany. We went all together, 8 people, and got 3 trees. It was nice the hot wine we drank after chopping trees.

We did this a few years, but when it came right down to it, although it was nice at the time, it wasn't exciting enough to keep doing it.

Lyndsey,

Not sure where you live, but here in Northern California, there are literally dozens of Christmas tree farms where you choose your own tree. You can also buy living trees to plant on your property after they are finished with there festive duties!

This is such a great idea. I've wanted to do it for a number of years now... trouble is that (like just happened this year reading this) I never think of it until after the "other" tree is up and decorated.

Really wish I could remember it FIRST one of these times!
