I would really prefer a live tree. I'm more comfortable with not having to send my tree to recycling to be reduced to wood chips, but I live in a small apartment with an even smaller, shared balcony. I'm also not sure how long the tree can survive the indoors before being set free again outside.

I think the idea of living trees is really very very good and maybe you can also plant the tree as a memory of the year it was lit up for christmas....
