Most of the plans were actually initiated by the previous Mayor, Lyndsey, and the new one has (to his credit to be fair) kept them going.. He is now reaping the rewards of the previous mayor's 8 years of hard work.

What a terrible waste of electricity that must have been to have the office lights on. I've also heard that Stockholm won a prize for being one of the world's greenest cities - apparently does wonders with water management.

ridiculous isn't it? Some designer somewhere decided that in that office building you didn't need a master switch for the lightsso the caretaker could turn them off without going into each room...

This was a very impressive purpose built complex built for the council in the late 1990's! It would have been easier to forgive if they were struggling with an old building. Of course as well as the issue of wasted energy, the council tax payers had to foot the bill. How dare they waste our money like that!
