I was pleased to learn that my city, Montreal, has plans to extend green spaces and bike paths and hopefully reintroduce the tram. We also have a relatively new community bike rental program going. Are your cities going greener as well?

We have park and ride schemes and cycle paths and that sort of thing. We also have some wonderful parks and green spaces, but there is still a great deal to be done.

London is a very green city with several massive parks, and constant planting work going on.

My local council has a sponsored flowerbed scheme where local businesses sponsor a flower bed in return for a small plaque with their name on.. This has produced some really spectacular displays.

London Bus services are replacing all their fleets with hybrid vehicles, the first of which are on the road now.

We are planning a free cycle scheme and there is already a large cycle path network..

Yes, I've heard say that the mayor of London has some very ambitious dreams for the city.

The city I live in India is very green and is known as the city of flowers...It is a concious effort from the city authoriities to plant trees around the roads and in planned gardens...
Efforts are showing as the city does look wonderfully green.

We have that too, it is a nice idea, but a green city is far more than flowerbeds. Until a few years ago there was no way of turning all the lights of (from one point) at the council offices so they stayed on all night. That has been sorted out now. Recycling is very good, that is another big improvement over recent years.
