I live in a small town in Virginia, and find that I like to visit other small towns. I love to go to the local owned restaurants and cafe's as opposed to the chain ones. In my town we have a locally owned seafood restaurant that is wonderful. Is there a place in your town that you find great?

I agree with you that is where you can usually find the best home_style_ cooked food. I have always enjoyed the smaller town atomosphere.

I do pretty much traveling and this is something I enjoy, too... I try to always research local and mom & pop diners before I go somewhere.

To answer your question, the Chinese/Japanese/American buffet near here is the best I've had either local or in all my travels.

There is another place in my county. Actually it is a food place on wheels. It is called Just Plain Good Stuff. They are trying to get all the permits to build an actual building where they set up. But their hamburgers are VERY good and HUGE.

That sounds like a neat kind of place! There was one of those wheel places close to here, but they didn't stick around too long, unfortunately. They didn't serve burgers, though... that may have helped!
