2010 J.D. Power Survey Finds Rise In Air Traveler Satisfaction
Monday, 14 June 2010
It has been three years since airlines in the U.S. have experienced a rise in traveler satisfaction, but according to a J.D. Power and Associate 2010 survey, 10 out of 12 airlines have indeed improved in the eyes of their passengers. The increased overall satisfaction was mainly due to satisfaction with the cost, fees, and inflight services.

The highest ranking airline in the survey was JetBlue Airways and the runner up was Southwest Airlines. The two airlines that didn't improve in customer satisfaction were Frontier Airlines and Continental Airlines. J.D. Power conducts annual surveys on customer satisfaction and always checks up on seven separate categories, including inflight services; flight crew; aircraft; cost and fees; boarding, baggage, and deplaning; reservations; and check-in.

The results of the survey were based on the responses received from 12,300 individual and business customers who flew on one of the main U.S. airlines between April 2009 and April 2010. The improvements come in the face of tough economic times and the introduction of add-on fees.
