I'm not sure what they're called, but the last time we went away, we used a couple of special plastic bags.

You put clothes in, then press the excess air out of the bags. They have a valve that keeps the air out, and they take up less space in your luggage that way.

Have you ever tried them?

Did it make your clothing all wrinkled? I have wondered about this, but it sure seems like it would make everything a wrinkled mess!

I've seen those bags, but I wouldn't use them with my travels. I feel they would be more complicated for the way I travel. I think they would be a good option to storage dawn comforters and pillows, for example, but to travel, I think it would be too much ofr my taste.

luvcamerasnic,
You would not want to use these bags for dress shirts or a nice skirt that wrinkles easy.

They are exceptionally good for bulky items such as sweaters that do not wrinkle and take up a lot of room.

My wife was able to pack most of her casual travel clothes in these bags and got everything she need for a week in Europe in two carry on bags.

After looking all over for them, we were able to find them in our local Office Depot! They have a section for business travel which had many useful items such as those vacuum bags.

Wow, I had never heard of these before. I will have to grab some before our trip to SC. With two kids, myself and my husband we run out of room quite fast!

I have never used these, but I heard that they really work good. I just never think about it when I am packing.
