I never even knew that there was something like that on the market. I would think that they might be better then the little books I have carried around when in a country where you speak a different language. I would love to hear from someone also that has used one.

Hmm, I got one when I started to learn Dutch and have seen them sold in holiday/travel shops. I always thought they looked useful but was wondering if it was worth it or if a phrase book is just as good.

I have not used one but I guess it would help more if you are just needing help here and there with words. Never thought about how it would work with actual phrases.

Most of those translators also have useful frases. Some really sophisticated can have a change of the language depending the place you go. So basically you can have 4 of more diccionaries in different languages and English. They are a little expensive, but if you travel a lot, it is worth buying one.
