Now that I think about it I did have a little radio that had a tape p_layer_. I to had to use earphones though because my father hated my music.

Very true... until the person wearing them starts singing out of tune. For trips when I was a kid (I don't recall taking many) I usually took books along... or music sometimes.

I don't remember any electronics! At best, a battery operated tape p_layer_ that my sister took with us everywhere we went.... I had to beg her to listen to my tapes! But other than that, no electronics. I was never a fan of those things anyway... And my age is clearly telling why! LOL!

I'm from the old school as well, there was no such thing as electronic handheld games. But there was four of us and the fighting and picking on one another could make a two-hour trip just fly by (although for our parents it must've be an eternity b4 we got to where we were going). Hmmm, must be why we rarely took long road trips anywhere.
