a large notebook and coloured pens was the only other thing i would take...

for drawing, puzzles, origami... you name it... kids now need a sack load of things to keep them occupied, and would be 'bored' within minutes with paper and pens.. whereas it would keep me quiet for hours.

true stav....my toddler wants the car stereo to be on even if its for a short distance to the mall...it is like today's youngsters want every second of every minute to be 'happening'

when we were kids we were expected to occupy ourselves, encouraged with hobbies and interests... nowadays kids tend to be dumped in front of the tv or given a computer game and that's it..

It was much the same for me Stav, I loved to draw and I could happily keep myself amused. I always loved comics so we took several comics on long car trips too.
