This reminds me of a spot they had at EPCOT at one time. I think I heard that it's no longer there... but you walked inside the building in the Florida heat and it was generating SNOW in the first room. It felt so great!

Anyhow, you kept walking on and there was a machine that was dispensing free Coke from many different countries and I was amazed at how different the tastes were. Some of it was downright bitter, for instance, but some was really enjoyable.

Speaking of Starbucks, anyone here live near or travel to Seattle? I heard this morning that they're going to start an experimental project of trying to sell alcohol at Starbucks. Hmmmm....

why on earth would they want to start selling booze in coffee shops? not only will a quiet place for a chat and a hot drink be ruined by drunken patrons, but those who need to avoid alcohol, such as those with young children, or recovering alcoholics will have nowhere to go... dumb idea..

I agree Stav, I do not drink alcohol by choice and despite not liking coffee I like to go to a coffee shop with my husband because we enjoy the relaxed quiet atmosphere. I don't want to be around people consuming alcohol, even if they do not get drunk, they will get louder and it will change the client group using the coffee shop.

I have no idea, so I'm really hoping it doesn't succeed in Seattle so that it doesn't spread. Totally dumb idea, yes... it suddenly wouldn't be the quiet "homey" place that it is now.

I don't even think I'd want that if I'd drink, but I don't.

It doesn't make sense, if people want alcohol they don't want to go to a coffee shop, it is a completely different atmosphere.
