Air Transat offers non-stop flights between Vancouver and Rome

Starting on June 17, Air Transat will offer a new non-stop flight from Vancouver, Canada to Rome, Italy. This is the first time Vancouver International Airport will offer a non-stop flight to Italy. The flight lands at the Leonardo Da Vinci International Airport and will leave Vancouver once a week from June 17 until October 7 this year.
Alaska cancels flights due to ash cloud

Although the alert for Alaska's Pavlof Volcano's alert was downgraded from warning to watch late on Monday, the state has canceled flights due to a massive ash cloud. The U.S. Geological Survey put out a press release late Monday night saying the intensity of the eruption had “declined significantly” but the winds had spread the ash cloud to over more than 640 km (397 mi). Geologist Chris Waythomas said the ash cloud is right where flights criss-cross Alaska.
Ryanair to discontinue flights from Rygge Airport

Budget airline Ryanair is making true its promise to stop flying from the private Rygge Airport in Moss, south of Oslo. The Irish airline complained about Norway's plan to put a new airline seat tax in place this spring as part of its attempt to meet climate goals.
