On Sunday, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh, said that the Centre would take into consideration the proposal of additional flights to Visakhapatnam. Singh made this announcement when he was speaking at an Air Travellers' Association meeting concerning connectivity and tourism that was being held at the Four Points Sheraton. The meeting was held in celebration of the new flight to Dubai and the Minister said that aviation and tourism should go together and create a capital-intensive sector that has incredible potential for creating jobs. |

Kingfisher Airlines abruptly grounded all flights to and from Lucknow until further notice. This action left hundreds of passengers in a predicament on Monday. Up until now, Kingfisher had been operating two flights per day from Lucknow to both Delhi and Mumbai. The Delhi flights were at 8:25 am and 10:45 pm and the Mumbai flights were at 8:10 am and 10:05 pm. |

Three Air Canada flights were canceled in Vancouver this morning when a number of baggage handlers walked off the job in a wildcat strike that mimics those recently held in Toronto and Montreal. Air Canada spokesperson Angela Mah said the baggage handlers were back on the job by mid-morning. She also said that the canceled flights were bound for Edmonton, Calgary, and San Francisco and that the airline was working to place the passengers from those flights on other flights. |
