Qatar Airways to Launch Flights to Turkey

On Tuesday, Qatar Airways announced their plans to launch passenger service to Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul. The flights will be operated four times per week and will begin in May, 2014. This will be the airline’s third destination in Turkey as they currently operate a total of four flights per week to Ankara and 10 flights per week to Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. The new flights at Sabiha Gökçen Airport will bring the total number of flights in Turkey to 18.
Japanese and South Korean planes fly over Chinese maritime air defense zone

China’s newly imposed maritime defense zone in the East China Sea has so far gone ignored by the United States and neighbors such as South Korea and Japan. Beijing announced on Saturday that any aircraft flying in the area must identify itself and file flight plans or face potential defensive measures.
