Spanair is Out of Business

Spanair, the Spanish airline that has been struggling recently, has had its last flight. Yesterday at 10:00 pm the final Spanair flight touched down and all scheduled flights after have been canceled. This affects 120 flights and 23,000 passengers who will have to make alternate arrangements. The reason for the sudden halt in service is that take-over talks with Qatar Airways Ltd. broke down and with no more funding being offered by the government, they are out of money.

Solar Storm Disrupts Air Canada Flights

A huge solar storm sent radiation hurling into the earth's atmosphere on Tuesday evening, forcing Air Canada to reroute some of its northern flights. The solar storm was the biggest in nearly ten years and Air Canada rerouted its Arctic flights, including those headed for Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Peter Fitzpatrick, spokesperson for Air Canada, said that the decision to reroute the flights was taken as a safety precaution.

Demand for Flights to Brazil Triple

In recent years, Brazil has seen an increase in demands for flights to the country. This demand is putting a heavy strain on the country's airports and this is before the 2016 Olympics even begin. Over the past 10 years demand has increased 194% and it increased 16% in 2010. Since the airports are overloaded, passengers are bearing the brunt of the situation, as airports are crowded and there are many delays and increased prices to deal with.
