Passport cards In July, the government starting turning out the new U.S. passport cards, in response to the overwhelming number of citizens who applied for documentation following the new Homeland Security regulations. The current rules require travelers to carry a driver’s license and birth certificate returning home after land or sea travel – the wallet-sized passport card offers an additional option when traveling between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, and the Caribbean (doe any air travel outside the U.S., you’ll still need a passport.
