Dozens of Iberia flights have been cancelled Monday, thanks to the beginning of a five-day strike by workers who are upset over job cuts. The scene was fairly calm at Barajas Airport in Madrid because the airline had already rescheduled the flights of most of their passengers or given them a refund on their tickets. The staff holding the strike includes baggage handlers and flight attendants and they plan on holding strikes throughout February and March because the airline plans on axing over 3,000 jobs and cut salaries for airline staff. |

A total of 255 non-specific bomb hoaxes disrupted flights at Mumbai International Airport in 2012. These hoaxes came from many different types of people, including those who wanted to deter a business rival, passengers angry over extra baggage fees or were unable to get a seat, disgruntled employees, and drunk passengers. An analysis of the hoaxes by the city airport operator reveals that each hoax caused an average flight delay of 30 minutes. |

As much as 3 feet of snow fell on the New England states on Saturday, wreaking havoc on road travel and causing the cancellation of hundreds of flights across the region. Roads were impassable in many areas and five-foot drifts of snow developed in many areas. Some people had so much snow outside their houses that they couldn’t open their doors. Hurricane-force winds of more than 80 mph blew from New York to Maine. |
