Adventure travel is a broad category that encompasses many different things including, snowboarding, scuba diving, rock climbing, mountain biking, white water rafting, ice climbing and much more. We've found some good resources here to help you save a few bucks and help make planning that next trip a little bit easier.
A great place to start your planning is at the Passport to Adventure web site. This is a companion site to their long running PBS program of the same name. The site has links to all of the local PBS affiliates that broadcast their show and they have a great library of videos/DVD's for sale as well.
If you want to go snowboarding, the aptly named Snowboarding.com is a great place to start making your travel plans. This site has an active forum to help you get up to speed on that obscure new place you just heard about. They also sell products and accessories and have a regularly updated event calendar.
If breathing oxygen from a tank is more your speed, Scuba Diving Magazine has an excellent resource for your particular needs. There are some great videos here as well as other reference items. You can also purchase gear from them, "dive" in to their active forums, request their email newsletters and much more.
If you're not afraid of heights, maybe rock climbing is more your style, if so, check out Climbing Magazine which has a very good web site that includes a calendar of events, news, products and online forums.
