As of Monday morning Air France has had to ground a total of 64 flights, 44 at its Charles de Gaulle hub and 20 at Orly. In addition, those flights still departing from Charles de Gaulle are experiencing an average delay of 45 minutes. Among those flights cancelled were those from Charles de Gaulle to Los Angeles, Washington, Montreal, and Atlanta. Air France also cancelled flights on Saturday and Sunday and they have also been limiting the number of passengers allowed on some of their flights. This is all in an effort to ease the burden imposed on the airline by the strike. Thierry Mariani, Junior Transport Minister, said that the strike is irresponsible and threatens the future of the airline. See the original Google News article for more details. |
