Air Zimbabwe, the country's national airline, has suspended all flights to South Africa due to a debt of $500,000 owed to South Africa by the airline. Air Zimbabwe's acting chief, Innocent Mavhunga, said that the airline is working out a way to raise the money to pay off the debt, but in the mean time cannot risk having more of their planes impounded in South Africa. This comes after the airline's Boeing 767-200 was seized by American General Supplies at London's Gatwick Airport due to unpaid fees totaling $1.5 million. This caused the cancelation of the flight and the airline had to reimburse its passengers. As of now Air Zimbabwe is still flying into Zambia and DR Congo as usual and the airline still has a fleet of two B767-200s, three B737-200s and three MA60s.
