AirAsia X will be doubling the number of flights from Kuala Lampur to Tokyo, starting on March 23. The airline currently has three daily flights on the route and will increase it to six daily flights in an effort to meet the growing demand in the Asia-Pacific region. The goal of the increase in flights is to its core market in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Australasia. The CEO for AirAsia X, Azran Osman-Rani, said that passenger traffic and yield have been increasing steadily on the Haneda route since they launched it on December 9, 2009. To date, the airline says it has flown more than 100,000 passengers to Tokyo and those flights has an average load factor of 75%. To kick off the increase in flights, AirAsia X is offering a promotional deal for the added flights that will see fares as low as RM199 and Premium seats from RM999 for a one-way trip.
