Members of Both ASTA and IATAN Welcome to our Alaska travel page!

An excellent place to start your travel planning is with the Alaska Travel Industry Association which maintains a very nice site to assist travelers. This site has detailed maps of Alaska and its regions, a photo gallery, information on parks and public lands, an event calendar, weather updates and of course lodging and transportation ideas.

If you plan on visiting Alaska's Inside Passage area, don't miss the SouthEast Alaska Tourism Board's web site. This page will give detailed info on travel to cities such as Skagway, Juneau, Sitka and Ketchikan.

Things to do and see when visiting Alaska:
  • Alaska Native Heritage Center - many great displays including life-sized villages and craft making stations. The staff are all knowledgeable Alaska natives.
  • Reindeer Farm - mingle with these gentle long-antlered beauties. You can feed and pet baby reindeer, buy items in their gift shop, go horseback riding and more, located in Palmer.
  • Alaska Zoo - on this 25 acre wooded area there are more then 85 species of wildlife from the Arctic, including many types of bears.
  • Alaska Raptor Center - this wildlife center provides veterinary practices and medicine to raptors then releases them back into the wild. Any birds that cannot fly are housed in an outdoor display. This is a great way to get up close to Bald Eagles and other species.
  • Tony Knowles Coastal Trail - a coastal trail that has about 10 miles of pavement for biking, jogging or in-line skating. There are magnificent views throughout the trail, especially at sunset.
