Tuesday saw an announcement by Alaska Airlines stating that they will begin daily non-stop flights between Honolulu and both San Jose and Oakland, California. The new flight schedule will begin on April 10 and the airline has begun selling tickets. Those tickets bought from now through Friday will be available for $298 round trip for flights on Monday to Friday, between April 10 and June 9. The airline currently flies from San Jose and Oakland to Lihue, Kona, and Kahului in Hawaii and it flies to Hawaii from other cities. Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air are owned by Alaska Air Group Inc., based in Seattle. Shares of Alaska Air Group Inc. fell by 1.2% in midday trading.
