Thursday, 02 June 2011
Gogo Inflight Internet service is now available on almost all Alaska Airlines flights, according to a recent announcement by the airline. This means that passengers will be able to enjoy WiFi on their flight. Once the installation of the service is complete, the airline will offer wireless internet on 92% of its aircraft, leaving only seven 737 that will not offer the service. These aircraft include their freight aircraft, part passenger/part freight aircraft, and four 737-400s.

During the month of June, Alaska Airlines is offering passengers on the WiFi equipped planes complimentary access to Facebook. In addition, the airline has launched a Facebook app that will allow passengers to play an instant-win game that could see them winning a trip for two to Hawaii on Wednesday of each week. The game is called Alaska Airlines "Nuts for Hawaii. It was launched on May 12 and runs through July 20, 2011. The new Gogo service starts at a price of $4.95 and is available above 10,000 feet.
