American Airlines Says It's Five O'Clock Somewhere
Tuesday, 23 November 2010
Starting on December 1, select flights with American Airlines, AmericanConnection, and American Eagle will be offering passengers wine, beer, and cocktails at the discounted price of just $5. It's called the 5@5 Happy Hour because, after all, it's five o'clock somewhere. The discounted drinks will be available on all domestic flights and flights to Mexico, Canada, and the Caribbean that depart between 5:00 and 5:59 pm.

The discount of $1 on beer and $2 on wine and spirits will be available for the entire flight and, of course, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages will be served. There will also be snacks that can be purchased by Economy Class passengers during the flight and for flights that are three hours or longer there are fresh meal options available as well. American Airlines accepts only credit or debit cards for purchases made inflight and AmericanConnection and American Eagle accept cash only for inflight purchases.
