American Scores Low on Airline Surveys
Tuesday, 10 January 2012
American Airlines, which filed for bankruptcy in 2011, scored the lowest of the seven airlines surveyed by Middle Seat and FlightStats.com. When it comes to on-time arrivals, American scored #5, with Alaska Airlines coming in #1 and JetBlue in last place. The Wall Street Journal reported that American Airlines on-time arrivals were 70% below the industry average.

Other categories include excessive delays and baggage handling. Excessive delays are delays on the order of 45 minutes or more and American ranked #6, while Alaska was once again #1 and JetBlue once again came in last. In terms of baggage handling American Airlines was last. In terms of canceled flights, American also came in last and as for customer complaints, American was fifth on the list. Unfortunately, American is going to have to work hard this coming year to redeem themselves from this sorry state.
