American Airline officials announced today that they do not have any plans to cut flights to Sacramento or to any other US airport. AMR Corp., American Airlines' parent company announced Tuesday that they are filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. Taking this measure will help them cut costs. A spokesperson for the airline said that while they do not expect there to be very many changes in their schedule, they are not sure what changes in business operations will be ordered by the court. The airline recently cut one Tuesday flight and one Saturday flight at the Sacramento International Airport, an airport out of which the airline currently operates three to four flights per day. However, Time Smith, a spokesperson with the airline, says that they made similar cuts in numerous cities and that these cuts are unrelated to the bankruptcy.
