- Anchorage Museum of History & Art - open since 1968 the permanent collection now houses over 17,000 objects and more then 350,000 historical photographs.
- Potter's Marsh Bird Sanctuary - A protected wetland on 2,300 acres has a long, raised boardwalk to access the wetland without disturbing the birds.
- Alaska Native Heritage Center - many great displays including life-sized villages and craft making stations. The staff are all knowledgeable Anchorage natives.
- Anchorage Zoo - on this 25 acre wooded area there are more then 85 species of wildlife from the Arctic, including many types of bears.
