Several flight delays and cancellations have resulted from what Planning Minister Julio de Vido has said is the fault of the APTA technical personnel union and its leader, Ricardo Cirielli. De Vido said that the union is ignoring arbitration and is waging an undercover and illegal strike. De Vido also said that President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner “instructed to take all necessary administrative measures and resort to Justice for resuming basic and essential air travel service.” Cirielli said that there have been no financial reports and no clear indication how airport funding has been spent, but that the delays and cancellations are due to technical problems and lack of personnel.
