Be Prepared for Delays Over the Holidays
Tuesday, 20 December 2011
Anyone traveling over the coming week needs to be prepared for delays, busy airports, and packed planes. Flying during the holidays has proven to be one of the most hectic times of the year as during the last six years the major carriers reporting their statistics have nearly one in three domestic flights either diverted, delayed, or canceled during the holiday travel season.

Add to this the fact that there are 3.1% fewer seats on planes and that poor weather is unpredictable and you have a good chance of not arriving at your destination on time. It is important for all travelers to be aware of this. There is, however, some good news. Security checkpoints have eased up a little. For example, children under the age of 12 do not have to take off their shoes any longer. There are also updated body scanners. These types of things allow security to move more quickly and that is helpful for everyone.
