Tips on booking consolidator flights

This site is designed to provide you with an alternative to regular published fares. As such, you will be purchasing your flights directly from a consolidator, not Bargaintravel.com. We will be here for you if you have problems booking, or have questions, and of course we will always be available to help you after your flights have been booked.

After you book your flights, the consolidator will provide you with a toll free number to resolve most problems that may arise.

When you purchase your flights, you will be required to acknowledge the terms and conditions of the consolidator and the airlines, because of this we can not book the flights for you. Additionally, because these are tickets purchased from consolidators, not from airlines, the availability and pricing changes constantly, therefore we can not look up prices and give you quotes because there is no guarantee of pricing or availability when you are ready to purchase them.

Membership Info
You do not have to sign up as a member to purchase flights from us, and you will never be prompted to sign in prior to using our site. However, if you would like to be up to date on the latest travel news, get emails with the latest travel deals, feel free to sign up. It's free and we will never sell our list to any outside parties. For more details, read our privacy statement.
Third Party Tickets
Also known as purchasing a ticket for somebody else to travel. This can easily be accomplished on our site.

When ordering tickets, make sure the passengers names are correct. It is not possible to change the name of any passenger after the flights have been ticketed.

The credit card holder will be required to complete and fax a credit card authorization form to the consolidator to verify that they are the legitimate owner of the card.

To save time, you can download the credit card authorization form here. You can complete the form ahead of time and wait for the consolidator to request it after you have booked the flights. The consolidator will also give you instructions on where to fax the form.

Make sure that you and/or the credit card holder are available via email or phone for the 24 hour period after you book the flights to answer any questions the consolidator might have.
Departures outside of the U.S.
or Canada

We do offer flights originating outside of the U.S., follow these tips to make your booking easier.

Although most of our flights are e-tickets, occasionally tickets are issued by the airline as paper tickets. You will be notified at the time of booking if the tickets are paper. If they are paper, make sure to supply a U.S. or Canadian shipping address to avoid expensive international shipping charges.

If it is crucial that your tickets by either paper or electronic, please add this request to the "notes" section on the form at the time of your order.

To confirm the credit card holder has given permission for the purchase, the consolidator will require the credit card holder to complete and fax a credit card authorization form. Because of this you will need to book flights at least 7 days in advance.

Best time to purchase flights
You will find the best pricing on our consolidator flights if you have the luxury of planning ahead. Most prices in our system will gradually increase as the departure date gets closer. We recommend booking flights around six to eight weeks prior to your departure. There will of course be exceptions to this, but generally planning ahead is your best bet on saving the most money.

Be advised, that flights more then six months in the future will be difficult to find as our consolidators generally work on 6 month contracts with the airlines.
Last Minute Flights
Most of our fares do not require any advance purchase or minimum stay and most tickets can be issued as E-Tickets. If the flights can be issued as E-Tickets, they may be purchased within 24 hours of the day of travel. If the airline determines that the tickets must be issued as paper, flights must be booked no earlier then 24 hours in advance. To be safe, we recommend that you purchase your flights at least 2 days in advance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.

If you are departing from a country outside of the U.S. or Canada, you WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A CREDIT CARD VERIFICATION FORM. Because of this, flights originating outside of the U.S. or Canada can not be booked for dates less the 7 days in the future.

Please be advised that due to such short turn around times you MUST be available via email and/or phone for the consolidator to reach you about any questions or problems. We can not be held responsible for any tickets purchased through our system if you are not available to correct issues with the reservation such as credit card problems or last minute changes by the airline.
Group pricing on flights
When searching for pricing for large groups (8 or more passengers), please be advised that we do not offer special group pricing. This is because our consolidator fares are already heavily discounted. Also, our prices are only good the moment that you check them as they change regularly so reservations can not be "held" for any period of time.

For more information on group fares, please visit our page dedicated to the subject here.
Flights to Africa
We can not offer third party payment for flights to anywhere on the African continent. The following tips will make booking flights to Africa easier.

One of the passengers MUST be the credit card holder paying for the flight to Africa.

Be prepared to complete and fax a credit card authorization form to the consolidator to verify that you are the legitimate owner of the card. We apologize for this inconvenience, but the level of improper charges in this part of the world is staggering and these measures protect the consolidator as well as the credit card holder.

To save time, you can download the credit card authorization form here. You can complete the form ahead of time and wait for the consolidator to request it after you have booked the flights. The consolidator will also give you instructions on where to fax the form.
