February 7-13 saw a record-breaking booking week for Carnival Cruise Lines. The previous record was set almost four years ago and the new record is 165,308 bookings in one week. The company experienced a booking frenzy for the week for the entire fleet. Carnival Cruise Lines offers 3-day to 16-day itineraries for destinations in North America and Europe. Gerry Cahill, Carnival President and CEO, says that despite the stabilization of the economy, people are still looking for great value in their vacation. The company has offered that along with great travel agent support and a targeted advertising campaign called “Didja Ever?” The cruise line also offered a 72-hour sale that offered complimentary upgrades. Carnival has offered value and also departure points that are close to home, which offer their passengers the opportunity to have a great vacation at a lesser expense. The cruise line has a total of 22 “Fun Ships”, including two new ships called the Carnival Magic and the Carnival Breeze. |
