There is now a way for travelers to connect with other travelers in order to make the flight more social and less solitary. Bumped.in is a social networking website that allows passengers to go online and see who else is traveling with them. They can connect with these fellow passengers and find out who has common interests and who they might get along with on their flight. The site also offers real-time travel information and the service is completely free. The concept was developed by Kiran Patel, who travels frequently and wanted to find a way to make hours of travel more fun and engaging. Bumped.In will work with all the major airlines and many of the primary rail routes throughout the U.S. Users can integrate their Bumped.In profile with their other social networking profiles and there is an iPhone app currently being developed to ensure that the service will go mobile within the next 2 months. |
