Eight Flybe flights departing from Belfast City Airport were delayed on Monday when the airline experienced technical problems with its de-icing equipment. One of the flights canceled was the 10:20 am flight to Glasgow. However, the airlines said that the problem has been identified and that the repairs are scheduled to be completed by 15:00 GMT. The airlines sends out apologies to those passengers who were inconvenienced by the flight delays. Northern Ireland received snow overnight, as much as 5 cm in some areas. The airport de-icers are contracted out to BMI and BMI Baby, but would be made available once they had taken care of those airlines' aircraft. The remainder of Monday morning has an ice warning in effect and there is another ice warning for Tuesday morning. See the original Google News article for more details. |
