A series of earthquakes disrupted travel for hundreds of passengers yesterday, many of whom were traveling for the holidays. Much of yesterday afternoon saw many flights either delayed or canceled as the Christchurch airport was closed down. Flights to Australia, New Zealand, and other locations were disrupted. In addition to the disruptions at the airport, Christchurch also experienced disruptions in phone service. Those who were present when the quakes hit said they were scary. One man, Graeme Peck, was trying to make it home to his wife who was very concerned for his safety as she had been injured in the earthquake that hit the region in September.
