The famous Sydney Harbour Bridge in Australia was closed for the first time ever on Saturday, October 24. Why? So that 6000 people could have breakfast on it. “Breakfast on the Bridge” is a wonderful picnic-style breakfast that was held as part of Crave Sydney, which is an annual event that celebrates the way of life in Sydney throughout the month of October.
To transform the bridge into the perfect picnic venue, more than 10,000 square meters of Kikuyu grass were laid on the bridge and the best of Sydney's musicians and produce were showcased. New South Wales Premier, Nathan Rees, says that this event shows Sydney at its very best and it also demonstrates that Sydney can do absolutely anything. There were attendees from the world over and many people celebrated their birthdays at the event. There was even a marriage proposal to celebrate. This event is going to become an annual occurrence in Sydney. |
