False report of gunman at LA airport causes delays
Monday, 29 August 2016
A false report of a gunman opening fire at LA International on Sunday night caused panicked evacuations and flight delays. A thorough search through the terminals failed to show evidence of shots fired or of a gunman, according to Los Angeles police spokesperson Andy Neiman.

The reports were supposedly spurred by loud noises, and police are still trying to determine what caused the noises. Terminals reopened slowly and the passengers who fled had to go through security again. Passengers on arriving planes were kept on board and some travellers were moved out onto the tarmac as police with rifles out entered the building.
