How do a make a connection with another member?

It is pretty easy. Go to the link “Other Travelers” in the User Menu on the right side of the page. From here you can take a look at profiles for other members, where they have visited and where they are planning to travel in the future. This is an easy way to find things that you have in common with other members.

Once you find a person that you would like to make a connection with, place your cursor over the "Connections" button at the tiop of the page. A drop down menu will appear with one of the choices being "Request Connection" and click on that. A box will appear with a field for wrting a short note on why you would like to make a connection with them. Try to give the person a good reason, such as, " I am planning a trip to Japan next year and I saw you have been there several times, so I would like to make a connection with you." This helps give a good reason for them to approve your request and make it memorable when you contact them in the future with a question.

The person you have made a request to will receive a notification in their connections tab and a private message notification to check theirConnections tab. They can approve or diapprove at the time. As soon as they approvae or disapprove, you will be sent a notification as to whether you were accepted or not.

It is not a good idea to contact someone again if they have not approved you. They have the right to choose who they want to make a connection with, that is why there is an approval process in the first palce. They may not want any connections or do not feel they have time to communicate with someone who needs to ask them questions.

If you still feel you need to ask questions about an upcoming trip, feel fre to post them in the formu area for imput from everyone.
